Adult Dance Lessons At Murray Youth Performing Arts
Here at Murray Youth Performing Arts Albury/Wodonga we have several adult dance classes available for any age and any ability.
Always wanted to try ballet? Well this class is the perfect one for you! This class is focused on developing basic ballet techniques and improving your overall fitness level. The class aims to improve balance, core stability, posture, musicality, memory and overall strength and coordination. Our current classes are based at beginner level with no previous ballet experience necessary. Bring your friends and join in on this beautiful musical and social fitness experience.
Adult advanced ballet (discovering repertoire):
This ballet class is aimed at adults who would like more of a challenge or have had previous ballet experience. This class follows the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus “Discovering Repertoire” which consists of exercises to develop classical technique and artistry along with the opportunity to learn classical variations from famous ballets such as Coppélia and Giselle.
Tap is great for balance, co-ordination and overall fitness. This class caters compete beginners as well as those with previous experience. Grab your shoes, join in, and make some noise!
This is a highly energetic dance class incorporating the sophisticated form of national Scottish dancing. If you are looking for something a little different that will get your muscles pumping this will be a great class for you!

What is the cost?
We have a very flexable fee structure for our adult programs to cater for both casual and regular attenednce.
Single Casual Class = $17 (per hour)
10 Class Pass = $153 (per hour)
What should I wear?
Do I need to purchase special shoes?
For tap classes we highly recommend purchasing a pair of tap shoes to get the full experience of the class.
For ballet classes we recommend the purchase of flat pink ballet shoes (white or black for men) to enable yourself to get the most out of our classes.
However, for your first few lessons runners/socks are fine.
What should I bring?
Just your shoes and a water bottle!
What if I don't have a "dancers body"?
We also do not assume a level of fitness prior to commencing classes.
